A longer film review for a more worthy film...
Gamer is, odd. Lets make that my starting quote. Unlike Avatar, which is overrated for its graphics, and would be NOTHING without it, Gamer is graphics but a story with a message.
Fair enough, Avatar had a message, but it was covered up by the blue people.
I can't compare the two, but I am justifying my analysis of this queer oddity starring Gerard Butler.
WONDERFUL for anyone who loves, COD, Second life, watching fat men pretend to be women on chat rooms (that genuinely happens!)
I do not like this film. I do however respect the message it holds that gaming, like everything in life, will one day go too far. I am NOT a chick flick girl. But if I watch an action film I want it to be quirky but with quality. This film scores for gore, and porn. And that's not all to clever.
For Gerard Butler, a late comer actor whose portfolio is increasing over time, he is genuinely the best thing about it. But a better film with him is very easy to find. Law Abiding Citizen... oh my god yes.
